Describe a morning when you woke without fear? *
I had trusted them. I had asked directions and so it was clear I was lost. The two men insisted on guiding me home. I didn’t want their guidance. I just wanted to be pointed in the right direction. But they would only give me as much as I needed to know to get to the next corner. The roads were closing in. The men were walking closer. I found myself suddenly screaming, Get away from me. Get away from me, as we walked down a street surrounded by people. The men had perfected their look. It said, Look at this crazy foreigner. She thinks we mean her harm. We don’t even know her. They made me look like a mad woman. How is it so simple for a man to make a woman look mad?
Men are not to be trusted her mother and her father warned her. Never. At any time. And she believed them.
The world is full of men.
There is no morning to describe.
