What Is The Shape of Your Body? * (#3)**
We don’t treat all parts of our skin equally. There is a focus on the face, but I’m not sure why. It does not seem like our own decision; it feels foisted on us from external forces. The most important area of skin is on the sole of our feet. It has so much heavy lifting to do, and therefore needs to be treated with care. But we only seem to notice it when we’re bathing. We scrub away the dead skin and our soles are immediately grateful.
Sometimes the shape of my body is nothing but skin. Which is scary because skin can be so easily cut. Every day that I survive without my body being cut by external forces, my soul is immediately grateful.
